TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Alleged FSU campus shooter Phoenix Ikner’s attorneys filed a motion to delay his trial.
Ikner is accused of killing two people and injuring others when he started shooting on Florida State University’s campus in April.
The motion, filed Thursday, comes after Ikner’s trial was rescheduled to March 30, 2026 and after he received new defense counsel.
Ikner’s attorneys, from the Office of Regional Civil and Criminal Conflict Counsel, asked in their motion for more time to adequately prepare for the trial.
The motion cites over 250 witnesses the State has listed and “potentially hundreds if not thousands of hours of video” and large amounts of electronic data.
Defense attorneys said “the complextity of the guilt phase investigation alone” is immpossible to ad
