The wish of Anthony Stolarz has become reality.

The Maple Leafs goaltender wanted a new contract done by the start of the regular season on Oct. 8, and on Sunday, the two sides made it official.

Stolarz has signed a four-year extension, one that kicks in next season and carries an average annual value of $3.75 million US.

What does the contract mean for the Leafs in the big picture?

It’s a good deal for both sides.

Stolarz, who turns 32 in January, gets a nice chunk in terms, while the Leafs don’t break the bank. If Stolarz picks up on what he was doing in 2024-25, when he led National Hockey League goaltenders with a .926 save percentage, it’s going to look even better for Toronto. Fact is, there has been nothing to suggest Stolarz won’t continue what he started last year.
