GREENSBORO, N.C. — Tropical Storm Imelda has officially formed near the Bahamas Sunday and is expected to strengthen over the next 48 hours. The official forecast has shifted south/east compared to earlier runs after guidance showed a late-week turn out to sea, largely driven by changing steering currents and the influence of Hurricane Humberto — but heavy rain, dangerous surf and coastal flooding are still possible along the Southeast coast and pockets of heavy rain will likely reach the Triad into Monday and Tuesday .
