The German tourist recently killed in a hit-and-run incident in Midtown Manhattan was in New York City to celebrate her wedding anniversary, according to a new report from the Daily News .

Alexandra Sabine Lewalter Maric, 50, was in town for cruise when she and her husband, 55, were struck by a minivan near West 40th Street and Fifth Avenue, the Daily News reports.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, Sept. 24 — two days after the couple’s anniversary, according to the news outlet.

Maric was killed attempting to cross the street near Bryant Park, when a minivan that was in the middle of the intersection reversed and pinned her and her husband against a truck, the Daily News reports.
