The unacceptable behavior of fans at Bethpage Black hit a new low Saturday, when a drink appeared to be swatted out of a fan’s hand and struck the hat of Rory McIlroy’s wife, Erica Stoll.

The beverage toss, which was caught on video by Spanish TV channel Movistar, seemed to connect with Stoll , who turned around in shock, as did McIlroy.

This is the incident yesterday where a member of the crowd threw a beer over Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica at the Ryder Cup.

This is unacceptable and I really hope we don’t see scenes like this again today. Let’s just celebrate a great spectacle of golf 🤝
