HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. — One man is dead after a fatal crash on I-81 near mile marker 9 in Hamblen County, Friday, Sept. 26.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Mason Childers was traveling northbound when he went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. His vehicle continued to travel into the woods, where it then struck a tree, ripping the roof off the vehicle.

Childers was the only person involved in the wreck.
