BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS, Utah (ABC4) — A crash occurred on Bonneville Salt Falts after a driver lost control.
According to the Southern California Timing Association (SCTA), around 11:38 a.m. on September 28, a driver was attempting to reach a speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats when he lost control of the vehicle around the 4-mile mark.
The driver identified as 61-year-old Keith Copeland was treated on the scene, before being transported by Medivac helicopter to the University of Utah Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
Reportedly, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
