COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a crash in Lexington County that left one person dead.

According to SCHP, the crash happened on Saturday around 11:33 p.m. on Old Orangeburg Road near Chestnut Street.

Troopers said the crash occurred when a 2001 Ford sedan was traveling west on Old Orangeburg Road when it ran off the road to the right and hit a ditch.

The driver died as a result of his injuries, Highway Patrol confirmed.

This crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
