MADISON (WKOW) -- The Arboretum Neighborhood Association (ANA) in Madison held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a community mural on Martin Street.

The mural project centered on a small cinderblock pump building connected to two wells that provided water to the lower neighborhood near Fish Hatchery Road, north of the Beltline.

To enhance the area, the ANA organized a community initiative to decorate the building with artwork. Neighbor and artist Hannah Jilk submitted designs, and residents voted on the final selection.

Neighbors and their children painted the mural together, and the project concluded with the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ANA described the initiative as an opportunity to bring neighbors together and highlight positive community spirit.
