COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A disabled Army veteran and his wife are still waiting for justice five years after a pool contractor took their $35,000 and disappeared, leaving only a concrete foundation and broken promises.

Bob and Tracy Don Moyer hired Texas Cool Pools in 2020 to build their dream retirement pool. Instead, they got a nightmare that continues today.

"We gave them a check for $35,000," Bob Don Moyer said. "He said, 'Oh, I'll gladly put a pool here.' After a few months of working on it, they left us with this."

The Don Moyers moved to Copperas Cove in 2019. Bob, who served 26 years in the Army, was deployed to the Middle East when they found the property.
