Police have detained and sent to jail 15 people in connection with the recent violence in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and the rest of the rioters are being identified.

Superintendent of Police (SP) City Bareilly Manush Pareek said that the detainees are being sent to jail after evidence was recovered linking them to the clashes.

“Fifteen rioters are being detained and sent to jail today. Pieces of brick and stone, empty cartridges, and a pistol were recovered from them. The remaining rioters are also being identified through CCTV footage, drone surveillance, and manual intelligence. All of them will be arrested and sent to jail. Many of them live outside the Bareilly district and have also had criminal cases against them…”
