HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is hosting its annual Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students this week, providing blind and low-vision students with hands-on astronaut training and STEM education.

SCIVIS , running Sept. 28 through Oct. 2, serves students ages 9-18 with adapted technology and accessible materials that allow full participation in space missions and activities.

The program uses braille materials, large print resources, speech output computers and adaptive tools to ensure visually impaired students can train like astronauts, build rockets and design space missions alongside their peers.

The specialized week-long camp includes mission simulations, robotics activities and astronaut training exercises adapted for students with visual impairment
