Burglars smashed through a wall at M&S Produce and Deli Outlet in Egg Harbor Township, drilled into a safe and stole at least $13,000 in cash, the owner told NJ Advance Media.
The overnight break-in also caused thousands of dollars in damage, owner Dipen Patel said Sunday.
He believes a burglar got in through the hole, disabled the security system and let others in through a back door.
“It feels like somebody internal because they kind of knew a lot of the systems already,” Patel said. “They only went to places where they knew we would keep valuable stuff.”
Patel said the robbers cut the store’s power and fled the scene with the entire camera server and a large sum of cash.
