Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth moved to mobilize 200 members of the Oregon National Guard into federal service in the city of Portland for 60 days.

Gov. Tina Kotek said she received notice by email at 9:32 a.m. Sunday from the U.S. Department of Defense. The memo indicates the Oregon members are among 2,000 to be mobilized nationwide “to protect U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other U.S. Government personnel who are performing Federal functions.”
