LEON, Iowa —

Two people were rescued from the top of a water tower on Sunday afternoon.

Leon Fire Chief Doug Moffett said that two men were sandblasting. The water tower is near the fire station and some of his crew heard one yelling for help for the other, saying the other man couldn't breathe.

Both men were brought back down using a ladder truck and taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Moffett said crews from Osceola, Lamoni, and Ringgold County responded to this incident.
