Frank Carone, the former chief of staff to Mayor Adams, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis Sunday to talk about Adams’ decision to end his reelection campaign .

Carone, who has been a longtime ally of Adams, said the mayor made a courageous decision to end his bid in light of recent low polling, admitting the messaging of the campaign wasn’t getting through to voters.

“I think history is going to judge him and the administration really well,” Carone said.

As for the future, Carone said Adams is going to wrap up his legacy policies in his last few months in office, from public safety to economic development.

“He’s going to stay laser light focused on finishing the job he started,” he said.
