With up to three casino licenses available downstate, two proposals in the New York City area have been met with strong community support, according to a recent report from CBS News .

Earlier this week, community advisory councils in both Yonkers and Queens voted in favor of local casino proposals, the publication reported.

In Yonkers, the community council unanimously supported a proposal to grant MGM’s Yonkers Raceway and Empire City Casino a full casino license, the report says.

While the Yonkers operation currently features video gambling, a full license would allow it to add live dealer games, according to CBS.
