LOS ANGELES — Mistakes doomed the Colts on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

Indianapolis lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 27-20, and fell short of securing their first 4-0 start to a season since 2009.

Miscues from wide receiver Adonai Mitchell negated two Colts touchdowns on the contest.

The first of the errors came 11:32 left in the third quarter. Mitchell fumbled the ball at the goal line after taking a pass he caught from Jones down the left sideline for a 56-yard gain.

The ball ultimately skirted out of the back of the end zone for touchback after Mitchell fumbled it. Accordingly, Indianapolis lost possession and the Rams took over at the 20-yard line.

Had Mitchell been able to hold onto the ball at the end of his scamper, the play would have resulted in a touchdown. The Colts would have led
