GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - The 26th Annual Lawton Chiles Gala took place at the Hilton University of Florida, bringing together many to discuss shared goals.

This year’s Democratic Gala had over 300 people, solidifying its place as a cornerstone for Democrats to come together in Alachua County.

Juan Osorio, President of the Alachua County Young Democrats, told TV20 why the event is important.

“It’s the biggest fundraiser for the year for the Democratic Party here in Alachua County. It’s our one night to get everyone in the community in one room to talk about what we have done in the last year and where we are going from here,” said Osorio.
