Team Europe golfer Team Europe golfer Justin Rose and teammates react after defeating Team USA on the final day of competition for the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black Golf Course in Bethpage, New York, on Sept. 28, 2025.

Europe has won back-to-back Ryder Cups, after beating Team USA on Sunday.

The Americans kept the event competitive on the final day after being dominated early, but couldn't get out of the whole they dug.

Shane Lowry played the key role in helping Europe retain the cup by securing a half point after finishing his singles match in a tie with Ben Griffin. Lowry recorded a birdie on the 18th hole.

Tyrrell Hatton also finished in a tie with Collin Morikawa for another half point that would fully seal the victory for Europe.

Despite the team's win, Europe did not receive any compensation for its participation in this year’s competition, with pride serving as the top prize. Several players were visibly emotional as the victory became official.

How much money did Team USA receive?

Team USA received a compensation package for the first time in the event's history.

The PGA awarded American golfers a total of $500,000 for their participation in the event, with $300,000 of that amount expected to be donated to a charity of their choice.

The rest of the money will be shared amongst the players.
