DETROIT -- Kalif Raymond is one of those Day 1 buy-in players who has remained vital to the Detroit Lions, no matter how high the franchise climbs.

Dan Campbell opened his press conference by saying there weren’t enough words to explain how much Raymond means to his team. The Lions coach missed an opportunity to say, “Everybody loves Raymond.” But “Everybody loves Leaf,” works, too.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff called him “one of those heartbeat guys.” It’s another reminder of how much this Day 1 player to this rebuild still means to this franchise.
