PHOENIX — A shooting in north Phoenix involved Phoenix police officers, the city police department said.
Phoenix police released a statement saying a "critical incident" took place near 35th Avenue and Bell Road in north Phoenix on Sunday evening.
Police said the suspect was shot and was taken to the hospital. There was no information given on the suspect's identity or condition.
No officers were injured in the shooting, and there are no outstanding suspects, police said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety Major Incident Division is taking over the investigation.
Phoenix police previously told 12News on Sunday afternoon that the incident was very active and a man was threatening to shoot himself.
