WASHINGTON, D.C. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Aqua Star has issued a recall for roughly 8,000 bags of frozen shrimp due to potential contamination with a radioactive isotope.

The recall affects the company’s raw peeled tail-on shrimp skewers, which were sold at Food Lion stores in 10 states between July 7 and September 20.

The affected bags have a “best if used by” date of either November 7 or November 8, 2027.

The Food and Drug Administration says no illnesses have been reported at this time. Consumers are advised to throw the shrimp away or return it to the store for a refund.
