SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane Valley Museum has been recognized for its dedication to preserving the historic Opportunity Township Hall.
This recognition comes as part of the 2025 Outstanding Achievements in Historic Preservation awards announced by Dr. Allyson Brooks, Washington State Historic Preservation Officer.
The Opportunity Township Hall, built in 1912 in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, has been the museum's home since 2004.
The museum has undertaken extensive restoration work over the past 21 years, including sanding, stucco repair, window repair, repainting and a roof replacement.
A significant façade improvement project was completed in January, featuring stucco repair, new paint and a replica of the original scroll sign reading “Anno Opportunity 1912.”
