HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Trade winds have returned along with more typical windward and mauka showers during the nights and mornings.

We have a First Alert for a few more showers Wednesday as remnants from an old cold front move through the islands. No heavy rain is expected from this system.

Later in the week, trade winds will be disrupted by an upper level low approaching from the north, which would result in afternoon pop-up showers for leeward areas. Trades should return again Sunday.

In surf, waves on south shores will decline Monday, but a series of small swells should keep things from going completely flat. Small waves are expected along north and west shores from a series of small swells through midweek. East shores will trend upward as the trade winds firm up.
