The NWS issued a series of severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings as storm activity intensified across the region throughout the day.
The thunderstorms prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ground flights to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on multiple occasions.
