MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A week after Ryan Whitehouse’s death, his colleagues on the board of Connect Transit, Bloomington-Normal’s public transit system, will consider what’s next for the organization.

Whitehouse, who was 43, served as a trustee representing Bloomington on the Connect Transit board since April of 2012 and was chairman the past several years.

The board has scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, Oct. 1. On the agenda is a remembrance of Whitehouse and a discussion of the board’s structure. Presumably, that discussion would include who will take over as chair.

Very little is known about Whitehouse’s death. The Illinois Farm Bureau, where Whitehouse was director of national legislation, said in a release that he died Wednesday, Sept. 24 following an accident
