Geelong stars have poked fun at footy fans’ salary cap rumours after losing the AFL grand final.

Devastated Cats players fronted up for the club’s family day on Sunday before the mood lifted for Mad Monday.

Sam De Koning and Ollie Dempsey rocked up in an Aston Martin — complete with the Cotton On logo stuck over the number plate — and carried brown paper bags out of the luxury car.

The Cats have faced criticism from fans this year in the wake of Bailey Smith’s arrival, Chris Scott’s Morris Finance deal and an AFL audit into third-party payments.

Smith has a lucrative partnership with Cotton On, the Geelong-based clothing giant that is a major sponsor of the club.
