MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis woman could face up to six years in prison after police say she intentionally rammed her car into officers who responded to Overton Park on Saturday when a golf ball smashed her window.

Gwendolyn Atkins, 56, is charged with one count of assault on a police officer, a Class E felony. She is currently behind bars on a $75,000 bond.

According to her arrest affidavit, Atkins called police at 5:09 p.m. Saturday, saying that the rear window of her Chrysler was “shot out” at Overton Park—which features a nine-hole public golf course.

Officers responded and immediately checked the area for any gunmen before meeting with her at her car near the Brooks Museum of Art. MPD says no shooters were located.
