After spending this season as a starter, long reliever and at times even a setup man, Eric Lauer added one final role to his list of accomplishments on Sunday afternoon when he got to close out the game that clinched an American League East division title for t he Blue Jays .
There could not have been a more fitting pitcher to be on the mound for the final out of a 13-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Lauer essentially saved the rotation when he became a full-time starter in mid-July. Later in the year, he saved the bullpen too.
