BLAINE COUNTY, Idaho — Multiple crews battled a wildfire six miles north of Ketchum on Sunday evening as the fire grew to an estimated 300 acres, prompting officials to place nearby residents on pre-evacuation alert.

The Lake Creek Fire was estimated at 300 acres as of 8:10 p.m., according to the National Interagency Fire Center. The Blaine County Sheriff's Office stated that all day users have been evacuated from the trail, picnic, and pond areas in the fire zone.

The sheriff's office placed residents living on the east side of Highway 75, from Lake Creek Road to Eagle Creek Road, on "Ready" status, the first level of pre-evacuation alert. Ready status means residents should begin gathering important items and maintain situational awareness for potential evacuation orders.
