A man was killed and three women were hospitalized Sunday in a crash in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported at 4:20 p.m. Sunday at 100 N. Chicago St., at First Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The casualties were all in a pickup truck that was westbound on First, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The pickup crashed into a parked vehicle, killing the man in the front passenger seat of the truck and ejecting three people riding in the back.

A man believed in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said. His name was not released.

Paramedics took three women to a trauma center, including one with critical injuries and two in serious condition, Humphrey said.
