While the H1B visa once opened doors to the American dream, it has now shut out many graduates who aspired to move to the US for higher studies and work. With rising costs and shrinking chances of employer sponsorship, this route is becoming increasingly untenable.
“As that option closes, Indian IT firms will have a larger pool of talent to choose from,” says Aditya Narayan Mishra, MD-CEO of CIEL HR. “However, given the uncertainty in western markets, while IT companies will go ahead with campus hiring this year, whether they actually convert those offers into appointments remains to be seen.”
