Team India got the better of arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 to retain the crown with a 5-wicket win that sent the nation into celebrations.
The match was set to the heated backdrop of the geopolitical tensions between the nations and what was remarkable was the fact that there were no handshakes between the sides as is customary.
However, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha revealed that Indian counterpart Suryakumar Yadav did in fact shake hands with him in person, but refused to do so on camera.
“He shook hands with me in private at the start of the tournament," Agha said.
“Both at the pre-tournament press conference and when we met in the referee’s meeting. But when they are out in front of the cameras, they don’t shake our hands,"
