BAR HARBOR, Maine — The United States Coast Guard is asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of a sailboat found adrift in Frenchman Bay.

The vessel, a Boreal 44 named "Selkie," was discovered in the waters off Bar Harbor by the town's police department. The boat is registered out of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, according to the Coast Guard .

Authorities have not released details on how the sailboat came to be adrift. No injuries have been reported and officials have not said that anyone is missing in connection with the case.

Officials ask that anyone with information about the owner call the Sector Northern New England Command Center at 1-833-449-2407.
