A 41 single-family home development proposed for northwest Mesa got the greenlight despite concerns such as with density and claims that neighborhood notification was lacking.
Council last week voted 5-2 to approve Brighton Homes’ project on 6.5 acres at McKellips Road and Center Street. The city’s Planning and Zoning Board in August recommended council approval of the Price Manor II zoning case.
“I find this as a viable project to find our middle housing that we need in our Mesa area,” said Mayor Mark Freeman, who lives in Lehi. “Single-family homes are being outpaced by multifamily by 10-to-1 and that's unacceptable.”
Two residents who live near the project site spoke in favor of Price Manor II.
“I’m two houses in from the property that’s going to be developed,” said Mario Diaz.
