Euroleague Basketball announced rule updates for the 2025-26 season on Monday.

The changes will take effect from the top of the new installments EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup.

“Euroleague Basketball has announced several rule changes and clarifications that will be in place for the 2025–26 EuroLeague and BKT EuroCup seasons. The updates focus on improving game flow, player safety, and officiating consistency.

Rules changes and clarifications

Referees will no longer issue warnings before calling technical fouls for inappropriate behavior or faking/flopping. Warnings will continue for delay of game situations, waving a hand near a shooter’s eyes, and distracting a shooter with loud shouts, stamping, or clapping close to their vision.
