EDGAR – Surprise, surprise.

It was Edgar's defense once again front and center in their Homecoming 35-0 victory over Assumption on Friday, Sept. 26 at Edgar.

The Wildcats pitched its fourth shutout of the season to reach a Marawood Conference best 6-0 overall record.

But the Wildcats 18th consecutive victory did not come without resistance.

“A bit of a hard fought win,” Edgar coach Jerry Sinz said. “We know teams are going to try to keep the ball away from us but our guys have to be careful to not get overly anxious because penalties and or turnovers can occur.

“I thought it was a good, hard fought game. Assumption has some very good players. They're just short on numbers, which of course, is the thing that hurts them. But overall it was a good win for us.”
