KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating after a man was found dead early Monday morning.

According to police, officers were sent to Drury Avenue near 16th Street for a reported shooting around 1:45 a.m.

KCPD said people at the scene flagged down responding officers, saying someone had been shot. The officers found a man lying in the grass. When EMS arrived, they pronounced the man dead.

Police said it is unknown at this time what led up to the shooting. It's being investigated as a homicide, and so far, no arrests have been made.
