The “Project Flower” economic-development project, which could be located in Winston-Salem, has resurfaced after the unidentified hemp product company opted to conduct more due diligence.
The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners posted a legal notice on Sunday for a 2 p.m. Oct. 9 public hearing on the incentive request. The company is expected to be identified at the hearing.
According to the incentive application, the company is a four-year-old manufacturer of hemp-derived wellness products, such as CBD extract and CBD body care.
“Their products are plant-based (botanical) and do not involve animal testing in its processes,” according to the application. “The company has both domestic and international clients, and currently utilizes a contract manufacturer for production.”
