EUFAULA, Ala. (WTVM) - Starbucks recently announced plans to shutter hundreds of stores as part of a sweeping turnaround strategy — and now we know one east Alabama location was among those affected.

The coffee giant closed its only Eufaula location on Saturday. The store, which opened in 2023, was located alongside other restaurants at 811 S Eufaula Ave.

The company said it conducted a review to identify stores that lacked a clear path to financial success or failed to meet the brand’s standards for customer and partner experience.

While Starbucks did not disclose the exact number of closures, it noted that the move would reduce its total store count by approximately 1%. In addition to store closures, the company also announced the elimination of around 900 non-retail positions.
