RAICHUR: Six Anganwadi workers of Devadurga municipality have been dismissed from their jobs over allegations of irresponsibility and negligence in conducting social, economic and educational survey, also known as the caste survey.

The District Women’s and Children’s Welfare Department’s Deputy Director issued the dismissal orders for Anganwadi workers Gundamma, Rangamma, Muthamma, Chandbi, Vijayalakshmi and Renuka. They were terminated for failing to initiate services after receiving survey kits.

The dismissal follows the Devadurga tahsildar’s report. Additionally, 57 survey staff members in Lingasugur taluk, who were consistently absent from the survey, have been issued show-cause notices by Lingasugur sub-divisional officer Basavanagouda Kalashetti.
