YADGIR: The flood waters of the Bhima river have inundated several areas in Yadgir city, leaving hundreds of people stranded. The Veerabhadreshwara Nagar and Vishwaradhyanagar neighbourhoods are severely affected, with many houses flooded.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and fire and emergency services teams have been deployed to rescue people trapped in their homes. More than 50 people have been rescued using boats since Sunday evening, with the teams working tirelessly to evacuate those in need.

Municipal council president Lalita Anapur and City Development Authority Director Lakshmikanth are overseeing the relief efforts and have assured the public that they will be safe. The floodwaters have disrupted daily life, with people struggling to access basic necessities like food,
