CHAMBERS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Jury selection begins for Sarah Hartsfield , the Chambers County woman accused of killing her fifth husband, Monday morning.
This case garnered national attention because of Sarah's past.
In 2018, she was investigated for killing her fiancé at the time in Minnesota. A grand jury decided it was self-defense, but after what came to light in Chambers County, that case was reopened.
During interviews with ABC13, former husbands and partners have described alleged patterns of abuse and threats.
As for this case, Hartsfield is accused of killing her husband of 11 months, Joseph Hartsfield, whom she said she met online.
He reportedly died from complications of the toxic effects of insulin in 2023 .
