Tropical Storm Imelda has maximum winds of 45 mph. The storm is moving north at 8 mph through the Bahamas. Imelda has become more organized in the past 24 hours, and outer bands are beginning to form as the storm progresses to the north, with rain and storms moving into Florida’s east coast.

It is expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it heads north on Tuesday. Models are gaining certainty in the details of the long-range forecast.
