This year, Boulder student Maddie Bailey participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a training program for high schoolers to develop and strengthen leadership skills. From July 27 through Aug. 1, Bailey bonded with other RYLA participants at the YMCA of the Rockies near Estes Park. Boulder Rotary Club sponsors the cost of attending the conference for local students.
Bailey, 16, is an avid reader and outdoor adventurer. Her hobbies include backpacking, climbing, canyoneering and inline skating. She has has offered over 130 volunteer hours to the Left Hand Outdoor Challenge, an environmental stewardship program for Boulder County teens. She lives in Boulder, near Gunbarrel.
