Nominees are derived from scores and stats emailed in by Sarasota and Manatee county coaches during the week to htincoming@gmail.com . Readers can then vote in the online poll to determine the Boys Athlete of the Week.

The Herald-Tribune Boys Athlete of the Week sponsored by Central Florida Behavioral Health Network for Sept. 15-20 was Parrish Community High quarterback Brycen Volz, who won the poll with 48.1% of the vote. Volz, a senior quarterback, completed 13-of-20 passes for 211 yards, including four touchdowns of 34, 14, 6 and 44 yards.
