Federal officials have expanded a public health alert regarding contaminated pre-cooked pasta to include a ready-to-eat meal sold at Trader Joe’s.

The investigation into the deadly listeria monocytogenes outbreak has been linked to the pasta in chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals.

As of Friday, Sept. 26, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported there have been four deaths linked to the outbreak and 19 people hospitalized in 15 states.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service , the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state public health organizations are investigating.
