CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Dozens of people marched in downtown Cedar Rapids, protesting recent arrests made by ICE across Iowa.
“It’s just disgusting. And I’m still shocked by it, that’s why I’m here,” University of Iowa student, Michael Danos said.
Danos said he witnessed the detainment of 27-year-old Jorge Gonzalez Ochoa at Bread Garden Market in Iowa City on Thursday.
“They chased him, they tackled him, they put their knees on his neck, they pulled a taser out on him, charged it up even though he was already detained by three men,” Danos said.
In a video of the detainment, ICE officers were not wearing any marked clothing and took Gonzalez into an unmarked car.
Gonzalez and his wife came here from Columbia last November.
