China has asked the US to officially declare that it is against Taiwan independence. The Wall Street Journal , who first reported the development, highlighted in their report that the Trump administration has not made a decision regarding the demand.

The report also said that the demand is “one in a long list of asks from the Chinese side under consideration", their report said.

The report also highlighted that the US State Department fact sheet on US ties with Taiwan is currently unavailable on its website, at the time when the report was published.
